This walk is through a nature reserve, so picking anything is an offence. However there is a vast amount that I can tell you about the plants that we come across. The Wild Thyme and Common Rock Rose pictured above is just the tip of the iceberg. There are several varieties of orchid growing in profusion as do Wild Carrots, Cowslips, Salad Burnet and Devil's Bit Scabious.
The walk is approximately 1.5 miles long and lasts about 2 hours on a gentle slope. Stout shoes are recommended. Dogs are welcome but must be kept close to avoid disturbing the Skylarks which are ground nesting.
